OK...first time bonnaroo-er meeting up with my buddies coming up from Florida and I'm totally stoked! I drive a jeep grand Cherokee and can take 3 others making a total of 4. The plan would be to leave Chi-town around 4 pm and drive 5-6 hours stopping somewhere in a Kentucky motel and then getting up ass early Thursday and leaving around 4-5am to drive another 3-4 hours to the meeting spot at the Walmart outside of the festival grounds where my friends will be that morning. We will get whatever we need and then head out to the Roo! Here is the cost that would be divided by the number of people in the car. 533 miles from CHI to Manchester (9 hours), my jeep gets 19 mpg, so 28 gallons of gas, multiply by the national avg. of $3.645 equals $102, let's call it at $100....so the grand total round trip is $100 x 2 = $200 round trip. Parking is included with the ticket and I will need the cash in my hands (for the round trip) before we get on the road. Space...I'm packing a small 2 person tent, 2 coolers, 1 duffle bag, 1 small backpack, 1 sleeping bag, and 1 pillow. If you are thinking you might be brining more than this for yourself, we should talk and make sure there will be enough room. I plan to stay through Sunday and leave Monday morning around 10-11am and hoping to have the energy left to head straight back...but it's likely that I may need to switch drivers to catch a little rest.
